Heimtextil was held in Frankfurt am Main in the middle of January and was the first opportunity this year for Melanie Mausolf and Mara Scheuermann from RAL to talk to people about the framework conditions and benefits of certification systems.
At the joint stand for the Blue Angel and EU Ecolabel, they used this opportunity to explain the criteria and answer questions posed by visitors to the trade fair. On the last day of the trade fair, Dr. Kristin Stechemesser from the German Environment Agency also held two specialist talks on the main stage at Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds.

Production criteria are part of the certification process

Whether cotton bags, duvet covers or blouses: The Blue Angel certifies textiles (DE-UZ 154) that comply with strict environmental standards and places requirements not only on the end product itself but also the fibres used in the products and the production processes for the textiles.

Other Blue Angel ecolabels for mattresses, shoes and upholstered furniture

The Blue Angel also informed interested companies about the benefits of certifying other product groups such as shoes (DE-UZ 155), mattresses (DE-UZ 119), upholstered furniture (DE-UZ 117), textile floor coverings (DE-UZ 128) and leather (DE-UZ 148).

Stay up to date

Unlike fashion trends, environmentally friendly consumption is of course timeless and we are looking forward to meeting anyone interested in the Blue Angel in the near future during one of our upcoming trade fair appearances. You can find out more information about our upcoming events, webinars and trade fair dates on our website, in our newsletter or via our social media accounts.
