Making paper, protecting forests: the Environmental Festival 2024

A child operates a slot machine with cardboard rolls to grab and youngsters look into a mirror with the caption Curious what's inside?

Around 50,000 visitors strolled along the capital’s Straße des 17. Juni in early summer temperatures and bright sunshine on the last weekend of April. Federal Minister for the Environment Steffi Lemke visited the stand of the German federal government’s ecolabel in the morning. By her side: author, activist and “greenfluencer” Domitila Barros, who accompanied this year’s Environmental Festival as a patron.

Ingo Strube from the Department for Sustainable Consumption and Product-Related Environmental Protection in the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Janine Braumann from the German Environment Agency and Jasmin Noorani and Melanie Mausolf from RAL were also present to hold countless informational discussions for the Blue Angel ecolabel and offer a helping hand with paper-making. Speaking of “helping hand”: a claw machine in the Blue Angel look proved to be a highlight at the stand. Filled with environmentally friendly Blue Angel products, the machine captivated old and young alike from morning to night.

Becoming an #EnvironmentalAngel on social media in front of the environmental angel’s wings

Pia Döbel was the guest of honour at the stand. The winner of the social media competition and her companion stopped off in front of the photo wall with the eye-catching wings and collected information about products and everyday tips. She won the trip to Berlin in March via a campaign on the Blue Angel ecolabel’s social media channels – congratulations!

All those who came away from the competition empty-handed: stay tuned! Following our accounts on social networks will give you new opportunities to win sustainable products for everyday life.
