Eco-Friendly Ship Design (DE-UZ 141)
Eco-friendly ship design - Implementation of environmental standards already during the construction of the ship.
The aim of the Blue Angel eco-label is to implement as many environmental innovations as possible for reducing releases into the marine environment already during the planning phase for a sea-going ship. The requirements range from the installation of an emergency towing system to measures for air pollutant reduction and fuel tank protection (double hull). Also included are demanding requirements for onboard waste and wastewater treatment.
The scope comprises merchant ships, research and authority ships. Excluded are, among others, fishing and naval ships as well as sport boats.
