The increasing use of air conditioning appliances is associated with negative effects on the environment, in particular through contributions to the greenhouse effect, both due to the energy consumption of the appliances and the climate-damaging refrigerant (losses). The "Blue Angel" ecolabel is intended to promote the use of energy-efficient air conditioning appliances with natural refrigerants with low global warming potential.
