This series of event starts in the first weekend in June. As in previous years, the “17th of June Street” in Berlin only a few minutes’ walk away from the famous Brandenburg Gate will become a “mile of opportunities” on 1 June. Environmental associations, initiatives and educational institutions are inviting anyone who is interested in protecting the environment to visit the 30th Environmental Festival Berlin throughout the day. The ecolabel of the German federal government will have its own stand at this anniversary edition of the festival that includes a papermaking station for young visitors.
At the very start of the weekend (29 - 31 May), the festival bike will also stop at the immergut-Festival near to Neustrelitz in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. Just like last year, visitors to this very special festival for music and culture lovers will be able to take part in a memory game based on facts about the Blue Angel. To ensure that the festival weekend is as environmentally friendly as possible, visitors will also find loads of products certified with the Blue Angel inside the cargo bike.
The cargo bike will then make a stop at this year’s Ecofest (Ökofete) in Leipzig. It is the largest environmental festival in central Germany and will be held in Clara Zetkin Park on Anton Bruckner Allee on 15 June. The ecolabel from the German federal government will have its own stand on the festival grounds, where the team will provide visitors with information and advice on the more than 40,000 products and services that are now certified with the Blue Angel.
Following these first events in the east and northeast of Germany, the cargo bike will then head to the southwest of Germany on 4 and 5 July, where the Blue Angel ecolabel will participate in the Kessel Festival in Stuttgart, the State Capital of Baden-Württemberg.
