The Blue Angel not only answered the questions posed by festivalgoers on the campsites about environmentally friendly consumption but also tested the reactions of visitors with a memory game and held a quiz to find out how much they knew about the ecolabel.
Pedalling along for sustainable festivals
The two popular festivals in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Rhineland Palatinate – which start the music festival season in Germany every year in early summer – were chosen for a reason. Festivals and camping holidays have also become the subject of much debate when it comes to sustainability and resource consumption over the last few years.
This is why the Blue Angel decided to provide visitors to these festivals with more information in May and June. This included background information on environmentally friendly products and services and tips on how to plan your summer camping holiday in the most resource-conserving way possible. In cooperation with the companies Goldeimer, Schneider Schreibgeräte and Memo Werbeartikel, visitors were able to take part in some games and win a practical fabric bag filled with a selection of products certified with the Blue Angel.
Although hundreds of fabric bags were handed over to their new owners in May and June, this was far from the end of the story: Social media is not just a good place to follow the festival season but also where the Blue Angel held a competition to give away more festival bags to anyone who failed to win one in Neustrelitz or at the Nürburgring. The Blue Angel regularly gives “encores” on its social media accounts – even when all of the bands have long exited the stages of the biggest music festivals – so it is really worth paying a visit.
